Our minds can get us through anything in life but one thing our minds tend to do is hurt out fitness goals. While it’s super hard to think positively 24-7, negative thoughts can prevent a week or even a month of workouts. If you’re reading this realizing these thoughts have taken control of you one time or another then read on to learn how to turn these thoughts around so you can stay on track.
“I haven’t exercises all week so why start now.” Just because you’ve skipped Monday through Friday doesn’t mean skip the rest of the weekend too. Everyday is an opportunity to make a healthy change so why not do something fun on Sat and Sun and take a nice hike with friend’s or plan vollyball game at the beach! Believe me the longer you put off working out the easier it is to just fall off track for good and before you know it months have gone by, so even if you’ve skipped a few days just get back on that workout train!
“I’m too tired, I’ll exercise tomorrow.” I admit it, I’m guilty of this one. It’s a tricky one because we all deserve a rest day and if your sincerely tired by all means you should give your body a rest and do an intense workout the next day. Now if the “I’m tired” is just an excuse and you use this often then it’s time to get to the bottom of it! Try a new workout if your bored or too easy, or workout a different time of the day. When I feel like just lounging, I’ll force myself to workout and I feel ten million times more refreshed and better after.That’s a promise!
“Exercising makes me hungry.” Yes we all feel hungry after working out, and it’s super important to refuel after. Just don’t make your post workout snack a 500-calorie meal. Choose a snack under 150 calories or drink our Petite Physique Power Lemonade or a refreshing post workout green smoothie.
So say goodbye to excuses and start to switch your mindset. Making small changes everytime you think these thoughts will start to shift your mind to think of working out in a positive way for good.
